Hey everyone! We just got back from a tournament in Aiken, South Carolina. We came back 3-1, with one conference win against Augusta State. We left Montevallo on Thursday afternoon and headed to the University of South Carolina at Aiken. Friday morning we woke up and had a great breakfast at the hotel and the headed to the gym. First, we played Augusta State for a conference matchup. We were a little slow but we beat them 3-1. We then had two hours to rest before taking the court against King College. We put up a tough fight but lost 1-3. It was then back to the hotel for a good night rest. Saturday morning we first took the court against Coker College. With a lot of energy and intensity, we beat them 3-0. It was then time to take on Palm Beach Atlantic for our last match of the tournament. It was an awesome game for both the fans and the players. Everyone played awesome and the energy and spirit on the court was amazing. We beat them 3-0. Everyone was excited about the weekend and glad that “the falcons are back.” We survived our month of traveling and everyone is really excited to be at home for the next two weeks. Until next time, Go Falcons!

Our Season Starts Today
Hey everyone! We just got back from a tough weekend. We started practice this week with a new attitude, “our season begins today.” Therefore, in our minds, the season began this weekend. We started out this week of practice with some conditioning and tedious skills, just like we would do in preseason. After a week of practice, we loaded the bus Thursday afternoon and headed toward Savannah, GA. Friday morning was spent sleeping in, eating at Olive Garden, and walking around the mall. That night we took on Armstrong Atlantic. We started off really rough as we were down the first game. We bounced back and won the second game, but couldn’t seem to come out on top for the third and fourth games. It was an extremely tough loss as it was our first conference loss this season. Despite the loss, we had to load the bus and travel down to St. Augustine to play Flagler. It was Flagler’s Dig Pink game, so in honor of the game we wore pink socks. With it being their Dig Pink game, Flagler had an excellent crowd and came out pumped up. Unfortunately, we lost the first game and could never regain our momentum. We ended up losing our second conference game 0-3. Yet again it was a very tough loss. As our coaches mentioned in the locker room after the game, “we have to learn from it.” With that in mind, we will have a hard week of practice next week to prepare for our tournament in Aiken, SC next weekend. Until next time, Go Falcons!

First Round of Conference Completed
Hey everyone! This week was a full and busy week for us as we played four games this week, all on the road.
Tuesday started off the week as we traveled to the University of Alabama Huntsville. This was a nonconference match up and was UAH’s dig pink game. The stands were packed at UAH and caused some trouble for us. We did not play our best and ended up being embarrassed 0-3. It was an extremely tough loss and an eye opener for everyone. Needless to say, Wednesday and Thursday we hit the court hard in preparation for the weekend.
The weekend consisted of one conference matchup at Lander and two regional games against Wingate and Anderson.
We left Montevallo Thursday afternoon and arrived in Lander late that night. We slept in Friday and had a lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we walked around a local farm for a couple of hours. We enjoyed feeding goats, llamas, and catfish along with playing with dogs and looking at peacocks. After a couple hours, we spread out our blankets and had study hall for an hour on the farm. That night we played Lander. After beating them 3-0, we quickly loaded the bus for Wingate.
Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the gym. First, we played Anderson. We lost the first two games but then picked it up and ended up winning the match in five. After beating Anderson, we had to take a quick break and get ready for Wingate. The game against Wingate was a very big regional matchup. Unfortunately we lost 0-3. It was a tough loss. As always we will enjoy Sunday off then hit the gym hard. Next week begins the second round of conference.
Until next time, Go Falcons!

On a Roll....
Hey everyone! It was a quick but exhausting weekend for the falcons as we traveled to Augusta State on Saturday to play Augusta State and Catawba. Since we played back to back, it was only one day.
The bus pulled out of Montevallo Saturday morning at 5:30. Everyone slept the majority of the way to Augusta, but once we arrived, it was all business.
First we played Augusta State. We were up 2-0 when we lost focus and ended up losing the third game. We came out strong in the fourth game to pull out the conference win. After that match we had thirty minutes to rest before we took the court to play Catawba. The game against Catawba was much like the first game. In the end, we ended up beating Catawba 3-1. After both games it was shower and back to the bus for the trip back to Montevallo.
It was a quick weekend but everyone was excited to come back with not only a conference win, but a regional win as well. We will be on the road for the next couple of weeks. I'll keep y'all updated.
